Mini Facelift

minifaceliftMini Facelift is a Plastic Surgery procedure designed to restore the youthful appearance of the face by lifting the soft tissues of the face and fixing these in a suitable position until natural healing occurs to permanently secure the soft tissues in the desired position.

The surgery is most beneficial for younger patients in their 40s to 50s who have some early sagging of the soft tissues of the lower third of their face, including jowls and deeper nasolabial folds with relatively good skin elasticity.

Unlike a full facelift, the scarring from this procedure is minimal as it is less invasive with a shorter recovery period for the patient. At Hadley Wood Hospital our consultants are highly trained experts and will tailor each service to the patients needs ensuring all procedures are carried out to the highest standard.

Procedure

Your procedure will be performed under a general anaesthetic. The incisions for a mini facelift begin in the temporal hair area and are extended downward, in a natural crease in the skin, behind the tragus of the ear and then around the ear to the earlobe.

The droopy soft tissues of the face are then repositioned to a more youthful position.

Aftercare

You will have minimal scaring as your surgeon will hide the incisions in the natural creases of the skin. After your procedure you should expect some bruising and swelling but this should go down after the first week.

You should allow a minimum of 2 weeks off work and avoid any strenuous activity for at least 4 weeks.

Your surgeon will advise you of the appropriate aftercare following your surgery and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
