Chin Implant

A Chin Implants are a procedure used to add shape and fullness to a patients facial features. A patient may opt for a chin implant if they are unhappy with the shape and size of their current chin, an issue which may affect their self confidence.

At Hadley Wood Hospital our consultants are highly trained experts and will tailor each service to the patients needs ensuring all procedures are carried out to the highest standard.

Procedure

This is a day case procedure meaning you should be able to return home the same day. It usually takes around 1 hour to complete and performed under a general anaesthetic.

Your surgeon will make an incision from within the mouth, inserting the implant into position to achieve the desired results. They will then use dissolvable stitches and a dressing to reduce the swelling and support the implant which will limit the chances of infection.

Aftercare

After your surgery, it is advised you take 1 week off work to rest and recover. You may find a small degree of swelling in this area however this will subside within a week.

Your surgeon will advise you of the appropriate aftercare following your surgery and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
