Cheek Implants

Cheek Implants (also known as Cheek Augmentation) are a surgical procedure designed to enhance the cheeks on a patients face. They create a fuller cheek allowing for a more youthful appearance in the face.

If you feel your cheekbones are flat or out of proportion, cheek implants will enhance your bone structure by making sure your cheeks appear bigger and sit higher. At Hadley Wood Hospital our consultants are highly trained experts and will tailor each service to the patients needs ensuring all procedures are carried out to the highest standard.

This procedure is performed under a general anaesthetic and your surgeon will make an incision inside your mouth where the cheek joins the upper gum.

The implant will then be inserted into this space which will then be sealed with dissolvable stitches offering no visible scarring.

Normally after your procedure you are advised to take around 7-10 days off work and 4-6 weeks off of any heavy lifting. You will be provided with a support bandage for around 7-10 days and may be provided with pain killers should you feel any pain.

It is important to keep your head raised as this will help reduce the swelling that may occur. You may be limited to soft foods until your gums have fully recovered. After eating you should rinse your mouth to keep it fresh.

Your surgeon will advise you of the appropriate aftercare following your surgery and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
